Paper Project
Creating a lesson on paper was so interesting. This project was based on the idea of Cubism that originated from Picasso. To create this, each student got a blank head cut out. Students were then instructed to draw two eyes--one from the side perspective and one from the front. After this, students were able to draw lips and hair also. Students colored their faces, making sure they were very colorful. Students then cut their faces into two and switched pieces with their partner. After this, they cut the faces into various organic and geometric shapes. They then glued the face pieces down to create a portrait. One way to incorporate this into a different subject and also have an extension activity would be to teach a math lesson specifically about organic and geometric shapes.
